As
principle of Artichoke Training Associates, Beth partners with management
in the businesses she supports to understand their objectives and assist
in solving performance problems through training and other interventions.
She has experience as both an internal and external consultant, considers
herself an agent of change, and can operate at both strategic and tactical
levels.
Beth has expertise in needs assessment, curriculum/course
design, facilitation, project management, people management, vendor selection,
competency modeling, and devising policies/procedures manuals. She has
developed and implemented instructor-led classes, national conferences,
web-based self-studies, as well as blended learning and distance learning
initiatives. Beth has designed and delivered programs in leadership development,
performance management, change management, conflict management, presentation
skills, facilitation skills, communication skills, managing priorities,
problem solving, workplace professionalism, and resume writing. In addition,
Beth offers workshops for trainers on issues and trends in managing training.
In the past, Beth worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA (BCBSMA) as a
corporate trainer. Among her accomplishments at BCBSMA, Beth spearheaded
an Associate Competency Modeling project, and orchestrated a company-wide
training rollout. Beth also worked for over nine years at PricewaterhouseCoopers
(PwC), in various positions, including training, knowledge management,
and consulting. At PwC, Beth designed industry overview courses for the
following sectors: education, healthcare, insurance, investment management,
publishing, consumer products, data networking, and telecommunications.
She also served on a task force that revised the firm’s course development
methodology.
Beth has an MS Degree in Training and Development from Lesley University,
and a BS Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Boston University.
Beth also has a PHR designation in HR Management from the Society for
Human Resources Management, and is certified by Linkage Inc. to facilitate
Change and Transition workshops. She is also qualified to administer the
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.
Beth serves on the board of the Boston Trainers’ Roundtable, an
organization that facilitates monthly workshops for trainers. She has
also conducted workshops for people whose careers are in transition at
Career Works in Brockton, and at Brookline Adult and Continuing Education.
